Airbag (SRS) Module Reset

If your airbag warning light is on, we come to your vehicle, read what the airbag (SRS) system has stored, and tell you what it points to. We normally attempt the reset electronically, in the vehicle. Whether a reset is possible depends on the manufacturer, model, and model year, so call us with your vehicle details first.

What This Covers

Common situations

  • The airbag or SRS warning light is on and you want to know why
  • A scan tool is reporting airbag (SRS) fault codes
  • Crash data is stored in the airbag control module after a collision
  • Airbag work was done elsewhere and the warning light is still on

What’s included

  • Reading the airbag (SRS) system to see what the module has stored
  • An explanation of whether a reset is possible on your vehicle
  • An explanation of what the stored codes suggest may still need repair
  • An attempted electronic reset of the module, normally in the vehicle, where the vehicle supports it
  • On-site service at your location

Limitations & Exclusions

Resetting an airbag module is an electronic step, not a repair. It does not make a damaged airbag system safe, and it does not replace having deployed or damaged components properly repaired or replaced.

  • When supported, a successful reset may clear stored crash data and SRS fault codes. It does not repair anything physical.
  • Deployed airbags, seat-belt pretensioners, sensors, connectors, and wiring still need the appropriate repair or replacement.
  • What we tell you is based on the codes the module has stored. It is not a full physical inspection, and it is not a confirmation that the system is safe or fully operational. Further inspection or repair may still be needed.
  • Support varies by manufacturer, model, and model year. Some vehicles can be reset and some cannot, so we confirm by phone before scheduling.
  • This is a focused SRS evaluation, not our broader Vehicle Diagnostic Scan — it looks at the airbag system, not at the rest of the vehicle.
  • AutoFob does not repair, replace, or install airbags.

Call us with your vehicle’s year, make, and model, and we’ll tell you what’s possible before scheduling.
